MSX is the 8 bit & 16bit home comuter architecture standard which Microsoft and ASCII announced in 1983. As the biggest features, this computer was desined for kid’s programming computer which everybody can buy by cheaper price. Also, it includes unified standard which is very similar to the current “open architecture” conception. So called “mycom” (it means a personally owned computer) boom began at the end of 1970s in Japan, Japanese compuer indutsry became an arena of rival manufacturers. Actually in the beginning of 1980s, NEC (PC-88 series), SHARP (X1 series) and FUJITSU (FM series) were the top leading companies in Japanese PC industry. After MSX standard was released in 1983, many Japanese electric appliance manufacturers started to enter the market of MSX. For example, SHARP, TOSHIBA, YAMAHA, CASIO, CANON, HITACHI, SANYO, SONY and PANASONIC released the MSX computers. And After MSX was relaesed in 1983, MSX2 was released in 1985, MSX2+ was released in 1988, and finally MSX turboR was released in 1990.In addition, MSX has an aspect which the computer kept providing the nerdy video game titles to the game geeks. The various video game developer entered the MSX markect, the big developers such as KONAMI, KOEI, COMPILE, MICRO CABIN, NAMCO, NIHON FALCOM etc. released their own titles. Especially, the first title of “METAL GEAR” series were released by KONAMI in 1987, moreover the first title of PUYOPUYO series, a pioneer of falling block puzzles game was released by COMPILE in 1991.
