PLAYSTATION 2 is the video game console released by SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT in March 2000. This video game console was developed as a successive machine of  PLAYSTATION. It enabled to display the high quality graffics including the movies, it is as equal as the arcade video game. Accordingly the gaps between home video game console and arcade were eliminated one by one, actually the video game developpers started to switch develop the game titles for PLAYSTATION 2 after the release. And this console adodted DVD-ROM, therefore we can use this console as a DVD player. The spread of DVD started at the beginning of 2000s, there were the certain demand for the media, the multiplier effect worked among PLAY STATION 2 and DVD.Other than this aspect, PLAY STATION 2 has the compatibility of PLAYSTATION, and the machine can access to the internet. Thus, PLAYSTION 2 goes beyond the limit of video game console, it becomes the multi media machine. This conception has been taken over to the successive machines of PLAY STATION. As on the middle of 2000, this became the top selling game console. The sales records reached at 150,000,000 units, this kept the record of the best selling  on the world.
